Lesson 5 | 5 Key Truths For Living Victoriously
The Level of Victory In My Experience Is Proportionate to My Awareness of My True Identity In Christ
According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, we have a new identity by virtue of our union with Christ in salvation.
Who do YOU see yourself to be? Do you define yourself by your performance? Your actions? Your accomplishments? Your talents? Your lack of any of the previous?
Our sense of identity influences everything we do. “The ME I SEE is the Me I’ll BE.” We live like we live because we believe like we believe… the BIG ONE is this: our identity in Christ.
If I see myself as a mistake, I’ll make more of them.
If I see myself as a failure, I’ll avoid trying new things.
If I see no distinction between myself and my sins (even those of the past) I will never rise above them… an excuse my present sins as I go.
The WORLD defines us differently than the Lord does.
The World says you identity is determined by…
1. What you did in the past
2. How you perform in the present
3. What other people say, think or believe about you
None of these things are God’s criteria. You are who GOD says you are.
Identity is determined by birth, not performance!
