Create A Great '08!
“The future is not something we enter, it’s something we create.” – Leonard Sweet ???????? ????? ?????? ??????? ???
What kind of 2008 are you going to create? If your answer is no more than a “we’ll see,” then you’re probably in for a repeat of 2007.
Not that that is a bad thing necessarily, but isn’t growth in order?
Don’t forget, “insanity” has been defined as “doing what you’ve always done expecting a different result.” When we don’t plan for different results, the status quo sits snugly in the driver’s seat.
This is serious business! TIME is an object of stewardship, and now you, my friend, are a steward of a brand new year. Are you PLANNING your use of it? Are you, while it is still the end of ’07, combining all your thoughts and efforts with a little bit of ink and paper to make it all that it can be by the grace of God, to make it live up to it’s title… “New”?
Jim Rohn says that “the reason why most people face the future with apprehension instead of anticipation is because they don´t have it well designed.”
Interestingly, most people spend more time planning their vacation that they do planning their life!
My family and I just got back from a great Orlando vacation. It was a great time of resting, playing, growing and adventure because we planned it to be so before we ever left. After a challenging year of ministry and traveling and often times apart from each other, we were determined not to waste a second of it.
The average person puts more time into deciding how to waste a weekend than they do planning how they’ll progress spiritually, financially, relationally, physically or mentally in the coming year!
They plan their leisure but they do no planning for their achievement, ministry or personal growth.
Ben Franklin once said, “be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better man.”
Here’s how I know you that the end of ’08 can find you “better” than you are right now:

Thomas Edison once said, “If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astonish ourselves.”
Hey, “better” doesn’t just happen by accident. The way to guarantee “better” at the end of 2008 is to plan for it now while it’s the end of 2007.
God said to His people: “I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live.” (Deuteronomy 30:19 NASB)
God is sovereign, and we do have to be ready and willing to make course-corrections. But all things being normal, seek God and get a solid plan and work that plan!
A new year sits before you. Choose LIFE!
